The Idea
The foundation firmm® has created an informative and scientific platform intended both for the broad public and for researchers to point out new ways of how to achieve a respectful and ecological relationship with the oceans and their inhabitants without any exploitation of any kind. This is our contribution so that future generations of humans and animals will still be able to live in a world worth living in.

The Location
In spring 1998 firmm® set up a research and observation centre on the Spanish side of the Strait of Gibraltar, in the fishing village of Tarifa. From here, nearly every day researchers and interested animal lovers set off together for excursions. In addition, firmm® offers lectures and seminars to interested tourists, teenagers and students in which they can acquire basic as well as special knowledge about marine mammals.

Dolphin Resort
Through its project "Dolphin Resort Ras Laflouka" in Morocco, firmm® will be able to contribute directly to the protection of marine mammals. A hotel for humans combined with a hospital and sanctuary for marine mammals is currently being developed. Captive dolphins from zoos and dolphin centres will be able to spend their old age - protected and cared for - in a natural habitat. In Ras Laflouka, we will be able to care for stranded marine mammals and, if necessary, to nurse them until they are safe to be released to their original habitat.
